This charming colour image of the post office at Orrs Island, Maine shows a woman in Edwardian dress at the entrance. Could she be the postmistress? It seems quite likely.

It is an unused postcard, so unfortunately there is no cancel or letter. It was printed in Germany, as many postcards of this period were, for the Hugh C. Leighton Company, Manufacturers, Portland, Maine.

It is certainly a lovely reminder of a forgotten age.
