Here is an extremely interesting stamp for a number of reasons. It is not often that we see a philatelist examining his album featured on stamps. Also, the fact that it was issued during the war, when so many collections must have gone up in smoke after the incessant bombing and destruction of German cities.

Designed by E. Stahl from a photo and printed in Vienna. It was issued on January 11, 1942 to commemorate the Day of the Postage Stamp and Hitler’s Culture Fund. Perf. 14.

This stamp would make a worthy addition to any thematic collection dedicated to philatelists, stamp collecting or charity stamps.
