On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Constitution of the Weimar Republic the Deutsche Bundespost issued a commemorative postage souvenir sheet to mark the introduction of franchise and eligibility for German women. The block bears the inscription “50 Jahre Frauenwalrecht” and is made up of separable stamps with portraits of the women politicians, who were represented in the Reichstag of the Deutscher Bundestag.

The commemorative sheet could be used as a whole for prepayment of mail; however, detached special stamps were also valid. The stamps were not to be sold separately. Sheets sold for 60 Pf. Sale at post offices ended when all the blocks produced had been exhausted.
