A pictorial series had been issued in 1906, with small designs for the low values and double-sized designs for the higher values.
A similar series replaced it in 1926. The centimes denominations featured an Arab woman, the Grand Mosque and the mosque in the Place Halfaouine, Tunis, while the franc denominations showed the Amphitheatre at El Djem.
This design was produced by Dabadie and engraved by Hourriez. The stamp were typographed in denominations from 1 centime to 20 francs, various changes of colour and value being introduced up to 1941.
