Sweden Baltic hawker
Because there will be a change in postage effective April 1, the Baltic Hawker stamp will be issued in a new color and with a new denomination (SEK 14). The stamp, fifirst day cover and collector’s sheet are included on the order form that accompanies this Bulletin.
The Baltic Hawker (Aeshna serrata) was one of four motifs in the Insects issue from January 2013. The dragonfly, which thrives near shallow lakes rich in vegetation, is the official insect of the Närke province.
“The insect’s structure and network of its wings are very specifific and I have tried to recapture this as thoroughly as possible with a lead pencil,” says illustrator
Beata Boucht.
