It has been quite a royal week! This video shows the swearing in of Belgium’s King Philippe after the abdication of his 79 year old father King Albert II.

What, no crown!!! Can be King be a King uncrowned? Is he shy, or is crownlessness a sop to the egalitarian mood of our (or their) times. Whatever, some nice footage, especially of the assembled Royals. Did not, however notice the Brittish Monarch among the assembly of aristocrats. Perhaps she was at the hospital, waiting for the arrival of her Great Grandson. Priorities? Insularity. 0r disinterest? The public certainly demonstrated their enthusiasm for the transition.
