December 2008 – Paris, France: Despite the instability of the world economy, the value of collectible stamps continues to rise as evidenced at the 2008 Autumn Philatelic Exhibition.

At the 2008 Autumn Philatelic Exhibition in Paris, France, top dealers from around the world presented their exceptional stamps valued at over 5 million Euros. Among the eighty-five display stands included thematic stamps of the world, varieties, books, mail entireties, French and foreign stamps on letters, first day stamps and more.
Double-digit gains in value per year are still possible for experienced stamp collectors. Experts in Paris are expecting an ongoing rise in the value of stamps, especially from “exotic” locations in Eastern Europe, South America and Asia.

The highly anticipated Arthur Maury 2009catalogue of quotation of stamps was also launched.
