This charming hand-coloured picture postcard depicts the Bank Street in Wallace, Idaho. Note the women in full-length dresses, hats and gloves. The telegraph poles appear to be a recent addition. The scene for a western movie…
On the reverse is a short letter from Teddy to Ethel Lingle in Spokane, Washington.
“This is the street the store is on. Do you think you would like the place?” Is this the preamble to a conjugal proposal? One wonders whether Ethel replied in the affirmative!
The card bears a neat CDS for Wallace, Mar 10, 2 PM, Idaho (1909).
If anyone here could assist me in contacting the owner of the postcard presented on this page (http://www.philatelicdatabase.com/united-states/postcards-of-the-united-states-bank-street-wallace-idaho-1909/),
I would be very grateful. (It is addressed to a family member)
Thank You
