Monaco Jules richard

The French scientist, Jules Richard (1863-1945) was one of the most loyal employees of Prince Albert Ist and accompanied him on his many oceanographic expeditions.
In 1900, he was appointed director of the Monaco Oceanographic Museum then under construction and remained there until his death in 1945. Jules Richard helped to advance our knowledge of the marine world. He was equally productive in the fields of physical and chemical oceanography, as evidenced by the development of the many instruments for taking water samples.
